Indus International School Bangalore (IISB) is a leading IB World School and one of India’s premier international day and boarding schools. Set on a 40-acre green campus, IISB is home to 1,100 students representing over 30 nationalities, with approximately 30% of students living on campus as boarders. Indus is an IB World School offering the complete continuum of International Baccalaureate programmes for students aged 3 to 18. The curriculum emphasises inquiry-based, experiential learning and academic excellence, preparing students to be reflective, confident, and lifelong learners.

  • Early Years Programme: Reception to Prep 2 (Ages 3–5)
  • Primary Years Programme (PYP): Grades 1–5 (Ages 6–10)
  • Middle Years Programme (MYP): Grades 6–10 (Ages 11–15)
  • Diploma Programme (DP) and Career Program (CP): Grades 11–12 (Ages 16–18)

Class sizes average between 22 and 26 students. IISB maintains a strong student–teacher ratio of
approximately 25:1, enabling personalized attention and meaningful engagement.

Laptops are required from Grade 6 onwards and are used purposefully to support learning. Internet
access is provided by the school and is securely monitored through a protected firewall.

IISB offers a structured English as a Second Language (ESL) programme. Specialist teachers support students in developing academic English proficiency and ensure smooth integration into the mainstream IB curriculum.

IISB is committed to inclusive education. Our dedicated SEN team supports students through appropriate accommodation, remediation, and adjustments, aligned with IB guidelines, enabling every child to reach their potential.

IISB provides nutritious, balanced meals prepared in its in-house kitchen. Day Scholars receive breakfast, lunch, and snacks, while Boarders receive all meals. Menus are designed by a full-time nutritionist, offering Indian and Continental options. IISB is a nut-free school.

IISB operates a fleet of air-conditioned, GPS-enabled buses covering most areas of Bangalore, staffed with trained female attendants and a designated Bus Parent.

Sibling discounts apply across all grades. When one sibling is already enrolled and another joins, the older sibling is eligible for a rebate of INR 50,000 for that academic year.

The academic year is divided into two terms: 

  • Term 1: August – December
  • Term 2: January – June

School operates from 8:10 am to 2:15 pm for all grades.

Formal and sports uniforms are provided by the school and are included in the annual fee.

Indus is an IB World School, and we provide all three IB programmes - Primary, Middle, and Diploma - to students ranging in age from 3 to 18. The Indus International School in Bangalore offers four rigorous and high-quality academic programmes:

  • Early Years Program (Reception to Prep 2) (For age 3 years to 5 years old)

Indus has an average class size of 22 to 25 students for all three programmes. From Grade 1 to Grade 3, we maintain a student-to-teacher ratio of 25:2. Grade 3 to Grade 12 the ratio is 25:1.

Yes, laptops are required beginning in Grade 5 and are supervised by teachers and the academic team. However, Internet access is provided by the school, which is regulated and protected by the firewall.

Our students represent a wide range of cultures, faiths, and beliefs. Students with limited English language ability are helped through an ESL (English as second language) support programme that develops Academic English proficiency, allowing ESL students to be integrated into the mainstream curriculum. All our English as a Second Language instructors are also language instructors. They work together to help our students gain confidence in their English speaking and writing skills, which is the school’s First language & the language of instruction.

Indus International School Bangalore takes pride in being an inclusive school. We work hard to meet the varied needs of students by ensuring that everyone has equal access to quality education. Depending on the severity of the learning issue, students with special needs are supported through remediation, accommodation, and some exemptions, particularly during examinations.

At Indus, we have a dedicated team of counsellors who assist our students with placement and college counselling services.

Indus counsellors assist students and parents in researching schools, making decisions, selecting, and visiting institutions, and completing applications. Our counselling department provides comprehensive guidance and support to students throughout their application process.

We have a well-thought-out bridge programme that has identified learning gaps for students switching boards and moving from other curricula to the IB. Our Pre-IB program is designed specifically to build the foundation of the IB in students taking the IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) program.

At Indus, the safety of students is of paramount importance and is achieved through the combination of the following measures

Our students spend their days in a safe and secure atmosphere with designated places for various learning activities. The 40-acre green campus has everything needed to support an internationally designed learning and leadership curriculum. To promote overall growth, the school property has smart classrooms, activity rooms, a fitness centre, art and music studios, libraries, large playing and sporting fields, extensive gardens, playgrounds, and a swimming pool. Dedicated Sports coaches in all major sports are trained with the most up-to-date training equipment and methodologies.

For Day Scholars, we provide a hot breakfast and lunch, as well as two snacks, while for Boarders, we provide all meals, including dinner.

Indus provides School Bus facility covering almost all parts of Bangalore with designated pick up & drop points. We have our own fleet of 30 Air-conditioned buses. Equipped with GPS, all the buses have a Female Safety warden and a Bus Parent, which is usually with a teacher in charge.

Sibling discount is applicable over all grades; and for both new and existing students. In case of one of the two siblings being a continuing student and the other sibling being a new student, then the older sibling is eligible for a sibling rebate of INR 50,000/- for the academic year in which the new sibling joins school.

We have 2 Terms in an academic year. 1st term is August – December and 2nd term is January to June.

8.30 am to 3:30 pm for all Grades. Buses arrive at school by 8:00 AM to allow for students to have breakfast before they begin their day.

We have formal and sports uniforms which are provided by the school and costs are included in the Annual fee.
