At Indus International School Bangalore, we nurture innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit through StartupYou, launched in 2020. As the cornerstone of our Innovation Curriculum for Grades 1-11, StartupYou provides a dedicated four-hour weekly framework to cultivate essential 21st-century skills—Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Communication.
Our goal is to equip students with the ability to nurture a creative mindset, think independently, innovate confidently, and adapt to an ever-changing world. Through real-world challenges, hands-on learning, and mentorship, we nurture young minds to become future-ready problem-solvers and changemakers.

Our Ecosystem
The StartupYou ecosystem at Indus International School Bangalore is designed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship by providing a dynamic, real-world learning experience. It brings together Designers (Teacher & School Designers), Business Faculty, Innovation Labs, Mentors, and Incubation Support, creating a collaborative environment where students transform ideas into impactful ventures. Through STEAM, Prototyping, and Design Labs, students engage in hands-on problem-solving, guided by industry experts, parent mentors, and domain specialists. With access to incubation opportunities, institutional partnerships, and grant contests, StartupYou empowers young entrepreneurs with the resources and mentorship needed to bring their ideas to life

Innovation in Action: Student Projects at Indus
PowerSole, an initiative by students at Indus International School Bangalore through StartupYou, is a groundbreaking sports footwear innovation designed for versatility and performance. It pioneers the concept of interchangeable soles, eliminating the need for multiple pairs of specialized footwear. This project exemplifies the core of StartupYou's innovation curriculum—leveraging modern technology and design. Guided by Design Thinking principles, the team navigated through various stages of the Design Thinking Process (DTP)—from empathizing with user needs to prototyping and refining their solution—ensuring a user-centered, innovative approach.
The team received recognition during the Innovation Curriculum Day at Indus and further at StartupYou’s Mini Shark Tank as the ‘Best Green-Living Idea
AquaWrap, an initiative by students at Indus International School Bangalore through StartupYou, is a pioneering step towards sustainable packaging. Addressing the global challenge of plastic waste, the team has developed a durable, biodegradable, and cost-effective alternative to single-use plastic wraps. Over the past year, they have engineered a biodegradable polymer in their school laboratory, prototyping products such as cling wrap, stationery pouches, and carry bags. Rooted in Design Thinking principles, the project involved rigorous experimentation, prototyping, and iteration, ensuring a practical and user-friendly solution. AquaWrap has been recognized at Indus Innovation Curriculum Day and further at StartupYou’s Mini Shark Tank, where it won the title of ‘Best Green-Living Idea.
